United Kingdom the BRC respond to emergencies, train first
aiders and help vulnerable people regain their
independence. The BRC also responds rapidly to disasters and
conflicts around the world. The Red Cross is an organisation
dedicated to caring for people in crisis.

The BHF was established in 1961 and plays a vital role in the
fight against heart disease so that it is no longer a major
cause of disability and premature death. It does this by
funding research into the causes, prevention, diagnosis and
treatment of heart disease and by providing support and

support groups.
